Getting Started
In order to donate to a charity via Search and Give you must have a Windows Live ID account and a Live Search Club Handle. Follow these simple steps to get started:
- Click on My Club Account from the left hand navigation menu.
- Click on Sign In.
- If you do not have a Windows Live ID* Account, click the Sign Up Now button, and follow the steps accordingly. Otherwise, enter your email address and password and click the Sign In button.
- Create a "Handle" for your Live Search Club account - your "Handle" will be displayed whenever you are signed in to the Live Search Club and can't be changed once you leave this page.
- Choose an "Avatar" - the "Avatar" will also be displayed when you are signed into the Live Search Club.
- Read the Live Search Club Terms and Conditions and select "I Accept" if you agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click the Submit button to complete your account set-up.
You are now set-up and ready to set your preferred charity settings!
*Windows Live ID
A Windows Live ID is free and allows you to sign in on any site that displays Microsoft Passport Network or Windows Live ID. For more information and to create an account, go to:

If you already have a Windows Live ID but have forgotten your password, go to the Windows Live ID sign in screen at: http://login.live.com and click on the Forgot your password? link.
My Charity Settings
In order to set your charity settings, click My Charity
Settings in the navigation menu. On the My Charity
Settings page, you can search for a charity or school to set as your preferred charity. Once you have selected a charity, you can also set a percentage of tickets that you would like to automatically donate as you earn them.
If your preferred charity becomes inactive, you will need to select a new charity the next time you log on. Any donations saved for that charity will be donated to the new charity selected.
You may change your preferred charity at any time by coming back to the
My Charity Settings page and searching for a new one.
Be a School Coordinator
Microsoft and Scholastic team up to make raising funds for your school free and easy. Every school needs a Coordinator who will serve as the point of contact for the Search and Give program. Coordinators will receive valuable resources that will help them reach out to their community and encourage people to support the program.
Coordinators can see the number of supporters their school has and the number of tickets that have been earned on their My Charity
Settings page.
Become a Coordinator today! Go to My Charity Settings
page to sign up.
Searching and Contributing
Use Search and Give to search the internet. If you are signed in, tickets will be donated to your preferred charity. If you are not signed in, your searches will not generate any donations.
Live Search Club and Games
Live Search Club has many games that you can play to earn tickets. You don't have to be signed in to play a game, but you must be signed in to earn tickets. After you have earned tickets by playing games, you may go to the Live Search Club prize mall and make a lump sum donation to your charity. Or you can setup your My
Club Account and set a certain percentage of how many tickets you earn to be automatically donated to the charity of your choice.
Questions regarding your donations?
If you have made contributions to your preferred charity through the Search and Give page, you can see your total donations on the My
Club Account page.
After you have made a donation through the Live Search Club prize mall, you will receive a confirmation number, a follow-up confirmation email, and tickets will be deducted from your account.
If you did not receive a confirmation number and tickets were not deducted from your account, then your order was not placed. Please, place your order again and be sure you are signed in when placing your order.
